STUDIO POLICIES
1. Communication: Please check your email on lesson days as notifications for cancellations and solo lesson schedules will be sent via email. You may send a text to let me know that you cannot make it to class or to ask questions but I cannot guarantee a timely response.
2. Lesson Year: Lessons are scheduled from mid-September to late April/early May, with each class having a set number of classes in the lesson year.
3. Cancelled Classes: Classes that I cancel for any reason will not count in our total for the year. I will make up a total of two lessons that I cancel due to weather. Should you choose not to attend class due to weather, I will attempt to make up for that absence, but I cannot guarantee space will be available. In the case of online lessons and your internet going out, I will try to accommodate for those situations.
4. Classes/Lessons Missed by Students: There are no refunds or make up classes for lessons missed by students.
5. In Person Lessons: Students must child wash their hands both before and after class. If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home. If your child has been kept home due to illness, please do not bring them to the lesson. In order to protect the health of everyone, students who appear to be feeling unwell will be asked to wait in the hall. Masks are required in all classes until further notice. Students who cannot wear masks are asked to join online.
Online Lessons: Please make sure your child has everything ready to go about 5 minutes before the start of the lesson. (Books, pencil, crayons) Please have a washroom break and all snacks completed before class time.
6. Solo Lessons: Solo lessons will take place every 3-4 weeks. Solo lesson times will be discussed and a mutually agreeable time will be set. The solo schedule will be set up on a rotating basis so your child should have a solo lesson once every 3 weeks in the agreed to time slot. A reminder/confirmation email will be sent out during the week prior to the next scheduled solo lesson. Some levels will require a few additional solo lessons outside of the rotating schedule. Those time will be set at mutually agreed to times with the same cancelation policy as stated below.
*PLEASE NOTE: Solo lesson time is very limited. As a result I may not be able to make up for missed solo lessons. Exceptions like family emergencies and illness will be accommodated where possible. If your child cannot attend a solo lesson, I require at least 48 hours notice in order to reschedule.
7. Both studios are shoe free, food free, drink free zones - with the exception of water in a spill proof bottle. Please finish snacks before coming into class. I suggest that students do not snack during either in person or online lessons as food particles can damage both acoustic and electric pianos.
8. Returned cheques: A $10 fee applies for all returned cheques.
9. Etransfers: For those who opt to pay by etransfer, I will send out a reminder email within a week of the due date.
10. Late Payments: There will be a $10 fee applied for any payments that are 2 days beyond the due date.
